Puppy training doesn’t require a perfect schedule. I’m a busy mom with young kids, a business, and a lot of dogs. Some mornings, I get up ten minutes early and train my puppy in the dark before the house wakes up. In this course, you can follow along with us.
I’m Abigail Greenwalt, a positive-reinforcement horse and dog trainer, breeder, and former zookeeper, veterinary technician, and shelter manager. I have a degree in Animal Science and Captive Wild Animal Management, am a Certified Equine Positive Reinforcement Trainer through the Pet Professional Guild, and am certified through Living and Learning with Animals (LLA), Dr. Susan Friedman’s course. My zookeeping work included hands-on experience working with and training a wide range of species using positive reinforcement, including big cats, foxes, small cats, meerkats, red pandas, capybaras, birds, crocodilians, primates, and hoofstock.
This is a recorded course of 8 modules released over 6 weeks — your first three modules open on launch day (Tuesday, November 17), then a new module is added each Tuesday through December 22. Lessons cover bringing your puppy home, how your puppy learns, potty training and confinement, alone-time, socialization and confidence, biting/chewing/barking and household manners, essential everyday skills, and cooperative care.
